Deborah Crookes

As a child growing up in the small coastal town of Sorrento, it wasn’t hard to appreciate the beauty of our coastline. My father Ellis Crookes inspired me as I watched him paint and draw.

My trip across the Nullabor in my old holden in 1975, was to lead me to more coastal living.

The childrens education in 2000 gave me the opportunity to go to Tafe and achieve certificate 3 in Art Fundamentals. Joining the Wanneroo Art Society was an asset also, to exhibit and learn.

In 2011 I opened my Studio Gallery, in one of the original beach shacks in the area, on our property in Green Head.

At Easter every year I have an Art Exhibition in the Community Centre, along with other local Artists. Opening night Good Friday 7pm also 9am – 6pm Easter Saturday.

To capture a feeling or moment on paper or canvas for others to enjoy, is what encourages me to continue on my artistic journey.

Thanking you,
Deborah
